Mud dauber  is a name commonly applied to a number of wasps from either the family Sphecidae or Crabronidae which build their nests from mud.  They love areas that have propane and air conditioners.  These areas should be inspected and cleaned on a regular basis.  Even though these look innocent they can cause a host of issues including compressor failure.  Then you need a new AC unit.

This is a start capacitor for an AC Unit.  If it is dented or bubbled on top it is already or about to fail.  When AC units are cleaned it is important to inspect the capacitor.  * Always use caution when working around capacitors.  If not discharged before handling, serious injury may occur.
